Brew Method Timer

Pick a preset, hit start, and let the visual bar and end-of-brew chime keep your hands on the kettle.

04:00

A short chime plays when the timer reaches zero. Allow sound for this page.

How it works

Timing is one of the four core brewing variables (with grind, ratio and temperature). Consistent contact time between water and grounds produces consistent extraction. This timer simply counts down a fixed target duration and provides a visual progress bar plus an end-of-brew chime — giving you a hands-free way to keep pours on schedule.

Step-by-step

  1. Choose a preset or enter your own custom duration.
  2. Prepare your gear and set your scale to zero.
  3. Press Start at the same moment you begin your bloom pour.
  4. Follow the bar. When the chime sounds, finish your brew and enjoy.

FAQ

Why is my brew time so different from the preset?

Grind size is the main lever. Coarser grinds drain faster; finer grinds hold water longer. Tune grind until draw-down matches the preset.

Should I include bloom time in the total?

Yes. Presets here represent full brew time from the first drop of water to the last drop draining through.

The chime isn't playing.

Modern browsers block audio until you interact with the page. Press Start at least once — subsequent chimes will play.

Can I use this offline?

Yes. Once loaded, the timer runs entirely in your browser. The chime uses the Web Audio API — no downloads required.
